pops and cracks

Right, I've tried all sorts of mixing, it doesn't seem to change 
anything. Could you tell me whether it was the OSS Mixer PCM volume, or 
PCM2 volume, or if it was the Alsa Mixer PCM, or PCM Stream volumes ?
