Problem Building inotify-patched Kernel Per Wiki HowTo

Following the Beagle install howto on the wiki, this command:

"sudo mkinitrd initrd-notify.img /usr/lib/modules/2.6.8.1"

is producing a usage message. 

That's the final step in building an inotify-patched kernel, which
seems to have well up to this point. FWIW, /usr/lib/modules doesn't
exist on this machine running the new release.
