Fusion HDTV support

Hi all,

I'm almost certain this is the wrong place for this but didn't want to
waste people's time by raising bugs for anything that I'm not certain
meets Ubuntu's charter.

It would be totally awesome if Ubuntu supported the Fusion HDTV card.
There are drivers available for it here:

    http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~chrisp/DVICO-Linux/

I don't know how stable they are.

So, assuming the developers see this as a worthy addition, I wanted to
know what steps I could take to help get those drivers in. I'd
definitely be able to test any packages (having recently acquired such a
card). I'd also be happy to attempt to add support for this myself, but
I'm currently completely lacking in .deb knowledge.

So I guess the other question is: can someone point me at a document on
making (or patching, rather) .deb packages for someone who has
experience in making rpms? The sort of questions I need answers to are:
where can I download the existing source packages? What are the
equivalents of these commands:

* rpmbuild -ba
* rpm -ivh (for source packages. Is it any different?)

and probably a bunch of others.

Would it be best if I filed a bug about this?

Please CC me on replies because I'm struggling to keep up with mail on
this list.

Thanks,

James.
