apt sources?

As I understand it.... which could be way off... the souces are
quite simple to make...

the format is "deb [url] [dist] [cat] [cat...]" and have "deb-src
[url] [dist] [cat...]" as well(if there are sources, which i think you
can tell by going into the cat folders(explained below) and checking
for a sources.gz file)

so, if you go to the url... http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/

and click dists... you have choices, like hoary, warty, wart-security,
and warty-updates.

any of hose can go in the dists spot...

and if you click on those... there are some files and folders(you can
tell by the trailing slash) any of those can go in the cat spot
separated by a space...

so...

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ warty main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ warty main restricted
universe multiverse

will get you the files you need for stuff... and

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ warty-security main restricted
universe multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ warty-security main
restricted universe multiverse

should get you the security updates... I added warty-updates to my
list as well... I'm curious was changing warty to hoary would do
though... hmm...

Just thought that maybe trying to explain it would be better than
cookbook style stuff... but as I said, I could be wrong on the whole
matter...
