vmware 4.5.1 in hoary

i've got the same problem,vmware 4.5.2 can only run as root on hoary x86


<i've installed vmware workstation 4.5.1 in hoary x86.  i followed the
<wiki to fix vmware to user udev properly.  my problem is that vmware
<cannot be run by anyone other than root.  i've never seen this problem
<before.  obviously i want to run vmware as a normal user, not root. 
<does anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?  thanks
