dist-upgrade unattended?

I have just done a warty -> hoary dist upgrade on my system using these steps:

sudo vim /etc/apt/sources.list  (replace all warty with hoary)
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

I was expecting the dist-upgrade to run without user interaction.  The
dist-upgrade stopped to ask if I wanted to not use any screen
resolutions.  I hit enter to take the default, no changes, action. 
Everything else has gone smoothly.

Is dist-upgrade supposed to be asking for interactive user input?
If not, should I file a bug.  If I do file a bug what information
should I attach to the bug?
