Question Regarding Sound using Hoary and Kubuntu

I have got an AC 97 as well (part of the nForce chipset), which works,
and has always worked fine whatever the distro.
With so many millions of computers using this sound chip, would be a
shame if it didn't work. I know that no consolation though, must be a
problem with your particular machine or set-up, not the AC 97 as such I
would think.
