Evince is coming only nicely and I suspect is more likely to be the 'better'
candidate, additionally Evince brings together multiple document formats
(PDF, PS, DVI, Djvu...) into one application (a la Mac OSX's 'Preview') .  

Also, the Gpdf people decided to 'rewrite' (replace) the Xpdf backend
font-handling and as such it doesn't work in quite a few cases...
