MySQL Error

Ok, when I looked at my MySQL users, I did in fact find a
debian-sys-maint user. So, now I understand that. I am VERY glad to
see that this user only has local access to the server. I was going
to get pretty upset if there was a backdoor into my server.
Thankfully, I don't have to get upset.....too much.
So, what I think has happened is this. I assume there is a password
set somewhere for this user. I must have inadvertently changed the
password and now this person can't log in.
Where is this password kept so I can define my own system
password?....which is something I am much more comfortable that Debian
setting it for me. Once I know where this setting is kept I can
change that password and update MySQL and then I shouldn't get this
error anymore.
