[OT] bootable ext3 recovery cd?

Somewhat OT, but hopefully somebody can help...

Last week I ran update/upgrade on my Debian box, and one of the packages
updated was samba.  It appears that the new samba decided to remove user
'samba' from my system, along with samba's home directory, which
happened to contain all my shares.  I shut the machine down as soon as I
realized what had happened.

Anybody know of a good bootable recovery CD with an undelete utility?
