Wireless indicator applet

Newbie here (so take what follows with a pich of salt!)... 



The loopback (lo) interface is literally the computer talking to
itself, using the network protocols for its own internal needs. 



You may have read some Linux gurus mean when they say that "Linux needs
(wants) to be networked." This is what they mean, I think. (read "Linux:
a hands-on guide, downloadable for free at that awsome site that is
www.tldp.org. It sheds some light on the subject).



BTW, I have the same problem as you re: the wireless applet... I found
no easy solution though (aside from the home-made applet produced by
bsoft - search the forum).
