avidemux is on marillat. marillat makes debs for debian, not ubuntu. if 
you want to install avidemux and it's dependencies, add the sid 
repository to your apt sources
deb ftp://ftp.de.debian.org/pub/debian/ sid main

kino can only edit DV files. not arbitrary mpeg files.
