What about adding nscd

Hello, recently I had a few problems with my name resolution servers
and while searching for ways to solve (or workaround) this I
re-encountered nscd, which I dind't know also caches name resolutions.
I think this may be a good way of improving user experience specially
while surfing the web. What do Ubuntu's developers feel about adding
it to the default desktop installation? It has a memory impact, for
sure, but I think it is worth. Right now, in my computer, the system
monitor shows nscd as using a total of 41.9 MB, but it's RSS is only
840.0 KB, with 708.0 KB of shared memory (btw, is that part of the
RSS?, I wouldn't think so), this taking into account that I have
configured it to keep the name resolution data in cache for a day,
instead of for an hour as originally configured.
Bye,
Jorge
