raylink card and ubuntu

I bought my first wireless card for a laptop on Saturday.
It is a Raylink, not sure of the model number off hand.
For some reason I couldn't connect to the connection in the place where I
was using it.
The person who helped me install it who was trying to get me connected read
something about this make needing a certain Kernel.
Does Breezy Badger support the latest Kernel and if not could anyone tell me
where I can find the file for the latest Kernel?
I went to the www.kernel.org site but could only find a name which had patch
in it and I was told not to download the patch.
Apparently it may have taken too long over a wireless connection where I was
trying to connect so maybe I may need to burn it to CD after I have
downloaded it with my standard broadband MODEM which I have at my flat which
is what my desktop PC uses at the moment.
