w stopped working?

I never did clear this up, but the problem went away after restarting.
I haven't seen it since. Maybe there's a memory leak somewhere that
only manifests after a long time? I'm just guessing. I didn't collect
enough information to even file a bug report because I had to reboot
shortly after I started this thread. (a kernel update, I think. It's
been a while.)
