Cannot partition RAID 5 array?

Ubuntu 5.10
1x20gb disk
3x200gb disk
Nforce3 MB

I'm trying to set up a server with a 20gb IDE drive as the / partition,
and a RAID 5 array with the /home & /var on it.

The problem I am having is that the installer does not seem to make that
choice available. When you create a raid 5 volume it does not give you a
opportunity to partition it at all.

Am I doing something wrong? I have used this configuration before with
Mandr*; setting it up during the initial install.

Thanks for any help.

The problem with doing nothing is not knowing when you are finished.
