Did all that before posting the bug.
I may just reinstall Hoary. Not very impressed at all with Breezy and losing faith with Ubuntu.

While I can't confirm your bug, a quick work around would be to "sudo
gedit /etc/apt/sources.list" or "sudo
nano /etc/apt/sources.list" (depending on which text editor you like).
