Yes - sorry that I forgot this. Only one sound process is default allowed
to be running at the same time. There are somewhere a howto I remember -at
least when Ubuntu was Hoary - that tell you how to make use of more than
one sound at the sound. Maybe at ubuntuforums.org. Otherwise you have to
google.

The upper howto solves this problem.
