We don't know that either of these assertions is true - hence my questions
to the developers.

Mike,

I don't think yelling and conspiracy theories are going to help much, do
you?

My post was an invitation to the developers to share their thinking, not
an invitation to a flame fest. Let's stay calm and wait for an answer
before leaping to conclusions.
