I also tried installing DSL on iRiver as bootable version.

Couple of problems I had:

- I could not make my computer to boot from iRiver without
bootfloppy-usb floppy

- after installing DSL into iRiver (as bootable version) iRiver worked
only as radio. It did not find music files I had copied into it.



It was fun to try this kind of thing, but now I have removed DSL from
iRiver completely.

Usb memory sticks are really cheap these days, so if I find some use
for this kind of thing I will buy one. There are also many other
distros designed for usb sticks that would be fun to test :-)
