how to get apps to start on login?

I too would love to see all my apps loaded at log-in. But I don't use
this feature, because as far as I can remember, it dumps all the apps
into the first workspace, or at least, not all apps appeared in the
correct workspace.
Would be greatr to see this dialog have an extra optin field where you
can specify what workspace each apps is supposed to load into.

In the meantime, I have found a workaround though : I don't stop the
machie, so I don't have to log-in !! Works very well, but until Ubuntu
lets me put my desktop machine to sleep, it also eats lots of
electricity !! :o(((
