Dropping support for Mozilla suite?

Mozilla suite remains important to me as I cannot get Thunderbird to
change prefs for  the location of local files.  I dual boot and have
the mail saved in a common place.  Tbird has consistently refused to
change its default locations, no matter what I do.  I do use Tbird in
Windows, though.  So Mozilla-mail is important to me.  I browse with
Firefox most of the time (including now).
