Notebook Recommendations

Hi

I'm going to buy a new notebook. I just wanted to know if somebody has
installed Ubuntu successfuly on a notebook (Intel or AMD inside) with
all the hardware (modem, WiFi, ...) recognized.

I prefer an AMD notebook. In where I live Toshiba, Sony, HP,
Compaq/HP, and Siemens notebooks are popular. I may have a hard time
finding a reseller selling from other brands like IBM and Dell.
