Hello there! I have a Sager 5690 I bought from http://www.discountlaptops.com/.
This is *almost* the same machine sold by Alienware (their gaming laptop- this
model is newer). I am completely happy with it and it's run Linux since day one,
I have had Hoary, Warty and Fedora Core 2+3 on it, they have all run perfectly.

I _highly_ recommend Discount Laptops. I am *not* affiliated with them, I am
just a very, very happy customer. If you have any questions about them, check
out the customer ratings of them at the bottom of their site. They are really
great, and I will be buying all my laptops from them from now on. I hassled them
several times with technical questions about different machines (i.e. what
chipset does it have for the ethernet connection), and they always answered me
in a few hours or less. The $35 all-in-one card reader shows up as /dev/sda1, so
I can read my camera's SD card, the 1400x1050 screen I opted for works
beautifully (you can go up to a 1600x1200 if you wait, I can't see that small!).
They have several different brands on the site, and the Sager 5690 is huge, but
I wanted the power and don't mind lugging it around.

I actually got a Dell D800 from my job, and turned it back in and am using my
personal laptop for work now, because the 5690 has a P4 w/hyperthreading, and
it's twice as fast as the dell was.

Oh, and like someone else said, GET the EXTENDED warranty! If you need to use
it, it will pay for itself several times over. I only had to use it once for a
laptop, but it was worth it. The money I saved from that one time to replace the
motherboard was more than enough to pay for all the extended warranties I have
ever bought for laptops, combined.

I hope this helps!

Take care,
-Frank
