'xhost +' does not work in warty

Using "xhost +" is a very very very big security hole. Therefor it is
disabled by default.
If you really want it turned on, you need to start the Xserver without
the "-nolisten tcp" option (I think I remember that right).
It's up to you to find out how..
a MUCH better sollution is to use "ssh -X"
