I found out :)

Pretty simple actually.

1) Go to menu 'Computer | Desktop preferences | Sessions'

2) Go to tab 'Startup programs'

3) Click add, and put in 'tpb -d'

OK, and Close.

Next time Ubuntu starts, your IBM buttons will be functioning.
