I see alot of people complaining about bugs with polypaudio but for
me it's a godsend. (just to add the other side of the argument here)
my sound was very bad and patchy before polypaudio was installed,
when i played dvd's the sound was a second behind, and if i paused
it and then unpaused it was be very patchy (only getting a little
bit of the sound) and with alot of static/background/garbled noise,
and every other system sound was like this, sometimes it corrected
it self after playing an ogg music file for a while but it was a
pain. after i saw polypaudio install everything was fine, dvd's and
everything.
my card uses the alsa module snd-atiixp.
sound just don't work with this card in warty thats why i am using
hoary,
