I now this is starting to look pathetic and I should go to sleep, but I
have to correct myself once more: the shortcut to switch between tabs in
Gedit is ofcourse Alt + [tab number] and Ctrl + PageUp/PageDown in
Firefox... zzzz... ZZZZ....
