[Hoary] Am I supposed to have a Debian menu?

I just managed to add that menu to my Applications menu. It took a
re-login, and of course I didn't do just one thing, but it ought to set
you off in the right direction if you want to dig into it.

 Install 'menu-xdg'
 Run 'update-menu'

I am not sure what menu-xdg actually provides. 'update-menu' is in the
menu package.

This isn't much of an answer I'm afraid. Hope it helps someone though.
