usbdisks don't appear on desktop

i put mmc- or cf-cards in my card-reader and a nautilus pops up with the
contents. but there are no icons on the desktop. i have to logout and
login to make them appear so i can umount them.

also the names of the icon are silly: usbdisk, usbdisk-1, usbdisk-2.
back in time they were named removeable media 128m, removeable media 64m
and so on. that was better.

i have latest hoary. do you have the same problem?
