PPC G3 iBook warty install, initial garbled/double image

I am curious if anyone else has experienced the following:

(Note that the problem seemed to resolve itself after rebooting)

After initial install of Warty on G3 iBook 800 MHz model M8758LL/A
then removing the install disk and reboot the text scrolling on the
screen was garbled. Then when I got the graphic interactive setup, it
appeared in a douple image. Having previously installed Ubuntu on a
couple of other systems, including successfully on a 600MHz iBook, I
was able to navigate through O.K even with the double image.

Once I logged in the first time and then after rebooted, it appeared
to correct itself and is now working normally.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I took a couple of pictures with a cheap camera (poor quality images):
