If a percentage of posts to the Ubuntu Users list are getting lost,
because of a setting that is not intuitive -- ie. you subscribe to 30
discussion lists, and the Ubuntu one has reply-to-sender and the rest
the norm -- that is something to discuss. You reply and your mail gets
lost, and you never know it's happened because you just assume that
Ubuntu Users will be like all the rest -- reply to list.
I would argue with the assertion that my view was "unproductive",
because if the situation were resolved we would probably end up with a
*much* better archive. In other words, you'd get the question and the
resolution open to all... which is what, as a community, I think we need.
I would argue that this is not "misconduct" as you suggest, but rather
trying to improve the current situation.
I am simply asking for a change in settings, and clearly people agree
with me.. I do not understand why you would even start talking about the
"code of conduct".. I do not believe that anything I've written would
violate any code of conduct -- I have made no personal insults, in the
way that the advocates of the "status quo" seem to like to do, rather
simply point out that we need a discussion.
Is that bad?
