Fan control module/tools for Mac G5.

Hello,

I search through the archive but was not able to find an answer to my
question.

I installed ubuntu PPC on a Mac Dual G5. Everything went fine. 2 little
remarks.

1) the installer did not installed the SMP kernel by itself. It would
have been nice if this was the default as my system is SMP. Did I miss
something?

2) The fan control module seems to be missing. As a result my G5 is as
loud as an turbojet engine. I think the module is supposed to be named
"therm_pm72" or something similar and I haven't been able to find it in
the provided modules. Is there some way to get it? Or should I just
recompile my own kernel and try to include it?
