Video cards : need advise on USED cards...

As far a fan noise goes, read reviews of the cards, I have a 6600gt
with a fan that is almost silent.
brand wise they will all work. They are all built off of nvidia
reference boards the only thing that is different would be looks.
dont spend more for a 256 mb card, at this level of card (speed wise)
there is no difference in performance.
I work for a computer store, I have only seen a few really old systems
(like pre pentium 3) not accept new video cards.
When it comes to used computer parts, you never know how good of shape
the product is in, it may work now, but it could go out in a week.
With new componants you atleast have a warranty.
