tried xmms, same result, no sound,
did sudo killall esd(without the exclamation marks, gore hard to get off
machine,
and video card a nice shade of blue, would prefer it stayed that color:-),
something akin to a miracle, have sound back, on both xine-ui and
totem-xine,
and totem-zine is much faster to close. It had been taking nearly 5
seconds to close.
For my info, what happened, am a newbie, and would like to
understand what changed? I don't turn my machine off, just switch off
monitor,
would a re-boot have solved the problem?
