 Nothing. It's just far better than anythine else when it comes to doing root 
stuff. That's why Ubutu uses it.

 And how often do you need to perform root tasks? When you're running stable 
version (Hoary) you don't even have to upgrade that often. Also, sudo gives 
you ability to limit task/programms that can/can not be used by user/group. 
It's very flexible.

 This discussion leads to nowhere. Su/root account is far worse solution for 
desktop computer than Sudo.
