fsck and system crashes

Rereading my post I understood it was not clear.
I'd like ubuntu to AUTOMATICALLY run fsck on reboot in case of crash
(which usually results in a non clean root fs).
In my case, I use reiserfs. Hope it's possible.
Anyway, I'm asking this because I probably found a bug in Hoary which
causes my system to crash.
Anytime I try to unmount my vfat partition (which is automatically
mounted at boot time) the system hangs and I have to brutally reboot
the pc.
