Good quality external sound card

Looking for a external (usb?) sound card that has good ubuntu/debian
support.  It is going to be used for streaming 128 OGG.  Was thinking
a budget of arounf £200-£600 but not sure if there is any poing in
getting a top notch card as obviously the quality of the stream is
relevent.
