Problem with Hotplugging and ACPI (i guess)

These files are included with the Ubuntu kernels, and the driver finds and
uses it by default.

Are you running any unofficial or unsupported packages?  What version of the
kernel and hotplug are you running, and what's in /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug?
