Notes from an install on my new machine, an Advent T9301.
Specs on this machine can be found at:
http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/advent/pc/t9301.htm
Using it with an old Dell monitor (pending getting a shiny new tft),
and with an old ps/2 keyboard and mouse (had some trouble with the
wireless set that came with it - will try that out soon.).

1: Didn't detect wireless when first configuring the network. Not sure
if that's part of the deal; anyway, solved by plugging in ethernet
cable.

2: I devoted the second hd (200gb) to ubuntu; the automatic
partitioning scheme was one large partition (and a swap partition). For
a default on a disk this large, I would have liked to see two
partitions: / and /home. Easily configured via the (slightly
unintuitive) partitioner.

3: Reboot, went fine, package install gave the following error message:
serial8250: too much work for irq19
about 20 times. Then install went ahead, x-server giving the same error
message about 30 times.

4: After logging in - nice wallpaper! - there was no sound (it has a
Realtek High Definition Audio (Azalia) card) and the wireless
connection wasn't detected.

Elsewise, pretty smooth install.
