Comments/Problems:

- Unable to configure the network because I'm using a wireless network with 
WPA security. Moreover the package wpasupplicant is not in main but in 
universe so I had to use another PC to fetch the package and install it. Is 
it possible to put wpasupplicant in main ? Without it, some peoples must be 
unable to configure their network and fetch the remaining packages. 

Is it possible to update the version of wpasupplicant package (0.3.8 in Debian 
testing & 0.3.2 in ubuntu) ? The new version in Debian has script 
for /etc/init.d which is not the case in the previous version.  And for my 
personnal information, can somebody tell me why I'm not able to install  the 
64 bit version of wpasupplicant from Debian ?:

For those interrested, I've made a package for amd64 (see 
http://www.auto.ucl.ac.be/~haut/wpasupplicant_0.3.8-1_amd64.deb )

During the installation, my monitor was not correctly detected and was limited 
to 1024x800. But my monitor is able to do 1280x1024. (BUG already reported as 
bug7244).

I had to do manually a "dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig" to activate the subpixel 
rendering for my LCD monitor.

At the GNOME startup, I get the following message :
could not look up internet address for neptune...
where neptune is the name that I have given to my computer
or when I try to use sudo
berti at neptune:~$ sudo aptitude
sudo: unable to lookup neptune via gethostbyname()
I had to add the name of my computer in /etc/hosts.

The sudo possibility was not set for the main user :

It was not too annoying because in expert mode, a password for root is asked. 
But, some of the entries of the menu using sudo (such as root terminal, 
synaptic) are not working . Using visudo to add my main user correct the 
problem

If I try to enable the bootlogd by modifying, the file /etc/default/bootlogd, 
It fails to start.
I only succeded to obtain the following error message :
bootlogd: cannot find console device 136:0 in /dev
  ...fail!

Can somebody tell me how I can definitively put a line such as "nameserver 
127.0.0.1" at the beginning of /etc/resolv.conf ? Every time, I receive an IP 
by dhcp, the resolv.conf is overwritted ?

Last thing, when I launch the Music player, I get the following message : 
"There is no plugin to handle MP3 file". Even if I have a majority of ogg, I 
still have some mp3. I think that for a distribution targeting simplicity, it 
is important that users are able to listen their mp3's just after a standard 
installation.

Ubuntu is a great distribution, you have done a very good job.
