Evince is not free for Mandrake Linux users either!

Eric, I tried to download the rpm from the Mandrake cooker and they
insist that I have to be a club member to download it. That means paying
for membership in the Mandrake Club or paying for the packaged Mandrake
distribution. Either way it is not free on that platform.
