(Breezy) apt-file, apt-show versions broken

When I try to apt-get upgrade, apt-show-versions and apt-file
get uninstalled because they both depend on libapt-pkg-perl:

apt-show-versions: Depends: libapt-pkg-perl but it is not going to be
installed

When I add libapt-pkg-perl to the list of packages to install,
I get

libapt-pkg-perl: Depends: libapt-pkg-libc6.3-5-3.9

So I add that package as well, and I get

'Note, selecting apt instead of libapt-pkg-libc6.3-5-3.9
apt is already the newest version.'

I sense broken dependencies, Obi-Wan. What should I do?
