Great article Tom.

The single biggest slowdown for me is the network starting up on boot. I
have an Ethernet nic and a wireless nic and use one at home and one at work.
I think there is a long timeout period for getting a DHCP address that is
causing me to wait almost a minute before bringing up X? Anyone know how to
handle this?

Thanks!
