Poll: searching for a reliable DVD-RW for Linux (Ubuntu)

It is my understanding that I have NO problem with Samsung DVD/RW.
At least, I have no problem under XP(nero) or Hoary (K3b).
I have got a notebook with a Compal DVD/RW. No problem too!

However I do have problem with both Ubuntu Breezy and Knoppix 4.0.2.

My informal conclusion is that Ubuntu is not Debian:
expect that few packages don't work.
Therefore, use:
WARTY like Debian Stable
HOARY like Debian Testing and
BREEZY like Debian Unstable
