Poll: searching for a reliable DVD-RW for Linux (Ubuntu)

I wasn't able to install Breezy with BenQ DW1640 at all and I had to use 
another drive. Others have had the same problem, also with Plextor 740A 
which apparently has the same chipset. Initially DW1640 seems to work 
now when I put it back after finnishing the installation with the other 
drive and then putting DMA on. There's a bug report about this (bug 
16901, http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16901) and this has
