Repository Trouble

I'm having some problems with my repositories in that I changed them and now
they don't work.
For one when I try to update my package manager I get the error message (1:
at end of e-mail) which is followed by (2:) and I understand I must have
messed up the repository address like error 1 says but I don't know what
they are supposed to be, so I may just need the correct address if you can
send that to me (I couldn't find it on the internet.
Currently the only repository I have listed is:
type: Binary
URL: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/
Distrubution: Hoary
Sections: main restricted universe multiverse
I'm still very new with Ubuntu so basic instructions would be very
apreciated,
Thanks
Robert Cook

network connection and the correct writing of the repository address in the
preferences.
