Getting onto the network/internet...need help

The card is good. In fact I am running XP of the other hard drive as I
compose this email. Also when I used the Warty Live CD I had no problems
with network internet (tho since the install I do seem to have problems with
the live cd as well.

another question .. the other two things that fail consistently during boot
up pciehp and shpchp what do they do?
