Password Protect One Folder inside Another Folder

Im a bit new to the Users and Groups thing so, let me ask.
If Im logged in and I require access to that 1 folder, does that mean I 
have to log out, then log in again and then get to that folder?

That is the thing. If the above is so then I cant do that.  However, if 
I can click on a folder and enter a password to get in, that is exactly 
what I need to do.
