MPlayer being Choppy

I got mplayer plug-in to work finally in Firefox. Thanks for those who 
helped me.

I have noticed that its a very choppy connection. Just to rule out some 
things: I have tried in the morning, early about 0600 CST, I have tried 
in the after noon and at night. I have a very fast cable connection and 
when Im on IE in Wine Media Player plays great.

Is there something I could change?
